The road to heaven is paved with small intentions?
That is something to consider.
It’s all very well to have a grand design for your life. A vision of what you want your future to be.
I’m all for it.
I have my own ideal lifestyle mapped out and I spend a few minutes every morning visualising it.
But the truth is, life doesn’t happen like that. It doesn’t happen in years and months or even weeks.
It unfolds moment by moment, hour by hour, day by day. When your dream becomes your reality, it will still be like that. You will only ever have this moment.
Have you thought about getting in some practice now?
Have you noticed how something happens in the morning and it seems to set the tone for the rest of the day?
You stub your toe out of bed and things just seem to go downhill from there.
Or you get up late, arrive at work late and you never quite seem to catch up with the day.
That is your intention in operation.
When something goes wrong, you decide, perhaps unconsciously, that it is going to be one of those days.
And it is.
It pans out just the way you intended whether you meant to or not.
So why not try intending intentionally. Intend on the small things.
Before you get out of bed, decide in advance that it is going to be a great day.
When you leave for work, decide that it is going to be a relaxing journey.
If you have to meet someone you’ve had issues with in the past, decide that this time you are going to make a real connection with them.
Whatever you are about to do next, intend that it will turn out just the way you would like.
It may not but you are at least increasing the chance that it will. And what if it does?
You are giving yourself proof of the concept. Building a track record of successful intentions.
With proof comes belief.
Belief that the grand intentions can become your reality.
And as we said before, those successful moments, hours and days begin to add up to a happy and successful life.
So what are you doing next?
Are you going to intend it to play out perfectly before you begin?
Why not give it a try.
